Police have arrested Cpl. Fatina Mukolerwa of Kasangati Police Station’s Child and Family Protection Unit after she posted a video alleging senior police interference in the release of suspect Sylvia Arinaitwe.

Mukolerwa claimed Arinaitwe resisted arrest and bit her, prompting PEP medication. Police disputed the account, saying Arinaitwe was bonded after officers found two children, including a seven-year-old, locked and unattended.

KMP Commander ACP Ezekiel Emitu accused Mukolerwa of bypassing procedure and unprofessional conduct. Community witnesses, however, described a confrontation during Arinaitwe’s arrest.

Disciplinary investigations are ongoing.
